I usually work during the 3:00 parade at Magic Kingdom called "Celebrate a Dream Come True". Although I sing the song over and over in my head for at least 2 hours after wards and I am starting to know the dance by heart, I still love working during the parade doing parade and audience control (PAC)! I'm there an hour before it starts, and basically I'm assigned to an area either roping it off or guiding people where to go. I also get to trade pins and help guests with any questions they might have. I could do a "pactivity" if I wanted to, such as hula hooping or jump roping with the kids. Working parade rocks!
Today, I saw this little boy walking around all by himself, and I instantly knew he was lost. I started following him, but then he saw some bubbles and started chasing them. So there I was, running around like a nerd trying to weave through people to catch up to this little boy. Finally after following him clear from Frontier Land around the bend into Adventure Land, I got his attention and asked him where his parents were. He was too shy to talk to me, so I asked him to take my hand and we skipped back to where I originally found him. And lo and behold, there were his parents, not even caring about their missing boy and munching down on turkey legs. The boy pointed them out and ran over to them. When they saw their son they just acted like he was never even gone and said a quick thanks to me and went back minding their own business. Is it a regular thing for them to have their son run off by himself, like a good 1/4 of a mile away, and let someone else find him and bring him back? It was so weird to me. He was out of their site for at least 10 minutes if not more. But oh well, at least they were happy once they saw him and I saw him when I did!
I have decided I love the theme "Celebrate a Dream", which comes from a quote by the man himself, Walt Disney. "If you can dream it, you can do it." So true, and I have witness that being here. I love Walt and his sweet quotes. I just love Walt in general now, seeing and celebrating his dream come true!
Tonight is my roommate's birthday, so we are going out to eat at Bahama Breeze! I am so pumped because I haven't gone out to eat at a nice sit-down restaurant yet since I've been here!
