I finally got a job!

I've been job hunting in Seattle with no luck whatsoever. It gets discouraging after a while of applying for jobs, then getting emails a couple weeks later saying I wasn't chosen to have an interview. I did have one phone interview, but the lady was interviewing like 8 other people and I guess I wasn't the one she chose because she never contacted me back.

I posted a blog a little while back about applying for a couple jobs in Salt Lake. One was for the church as a web designer and another was for an internship with Deseret News. If you haven't read about them, you can catch up by reading the blog post here.

Both of my phone interviews for those jobs went extremely well. I have been anxiously waiting to hear back from both of the jobs to see if I got either of them or not. Although the church hasn't contacted me yet about the web designer job, I have been getting emails that hint like they are still in the decision-making process. But it has been about 4 weeks already since that interview. So we'll see how much longer it takes until I find out about that job. But I did hear back from Deseret News... and they chose me to be their intern! I was pretty excited and shocked to find that out. I didn't even emphasize in journalism or any form of writing in college, but yet they still felt like I would be the best at the job. I feel like I am meant to be down there for some reason, since I didn't even seek out that internship and apply for it. They emailed me and wanted me to interview. So yeah...  it just goes to show you just never know what's in store for you until it actually happens. No matter how much you plan your life out, God's plan will ultimately triumph!

I am now in the process of apartment and roommate hunting. I have found one other LDS girl looking for an apartment, and she told me about these brand new apartments that just opened up in Murray. I looked them up and it's only 12 miles away from Deseret News. And it's pretty cheap compared to other apartments I've looked at. We are wanting to get a three bedroom apartment and find another girl to room with, since it will be cheaper to have a three bedroom with three girls living there instead of only getting a two bedroom for the two of us. It's only a little more for a three bedroom, so it makes more sense to just get that apartment. But I'm excited to be living in a brand new apartment! It has so many amenities and conveniences as well that are an added bonus. I could ride the Trax to Salt Lake and save on gas by not driving! So now we just need to keep looking for one more roommate.

I am a little nervous but more excited to start this new chapter in my life. I am so grateful I now have a plan for the next few months instead of not knowing what I will be doing at all. My next goal is to find a full-time job in Salt Lake that I can start once my internship ends!

And that is that. Happy Sunday!
