I read this quote from a talk by Elder Bednar recently. I think it is so powerful and is something that I have been trying to remember throughout my college career:
"My dear brothers and sisters, your college experience is not merely a game to be played with the ultimate winner determined by test scores and GPA. College is not just an experience to endure and 'get through' with the false expectation that somehow, someway we will magically be different on the day we graduate. Rather, a college experience is a period of development in one’s life to be prized and prospered. Indeed, simply settling for “getting through” college is like buying an expensive car that has no engine. The car may look very good from the outside, but inside the real power is missing."
It saddens me when there are students who are here just to get through college and don't realize what a learning experience college is meant to be, especially here at BYU-Idaho.My college experience is about to end, and I have seen that I have developed into a stronger person during the last 4 years. I am so grateful for my college experience, and it will be something I will look back on with a smile as I continue throughout life!
