I can finally say I have been to Bear World! I felt so ashamed not going there once since I have lived in Rexburg for 3 years now. But my cousin Leisha and her family came to Rexburg yesterday and planned on going to Bear World and invited me to come. Of course I couldn't resist the opportunity to see my cousin's cute little girls! Oh, and Leisha and Richard, of course!
We first drove through where all the animals were... there were elk, deer, turkeys, mountain goats, buffalo, wolves, a moose, and of course plenty of bears at the very end. It was funny to see all the bears taking naps in funny positions on their backs with their paws in the air or just walking around minding their own business. Some were asleep on the road. One bear was squatting on its back legs and waving its paws in the air as if it were saying hello to us!
Once we got out of where the animals were, we went into a pretty neat gift shop with a ton of Yellowstone- related souvenirs, only they said Bear World instead of Yellowstone. Emma got a little plastic baby deer and Nora got a baby plastic bear as souvenirs!
We then went to the petting zoo. There were deer, goats, and chickens you could pet. They would come up to you to check you out to see if you had food to feed them. Too bad for them, we didn't fee them! Emma was unsure about the animals until we got to the end and there was the cutest, 2-month-old baby deer named Andy. She liked him a lot. Nora didn't seem too afraid and had fun interacting with a deer and a goat. I love seeing kids react to animals. It can be so silly!
Outside of the petting zoo before you go in are bear cubs in their own little area. They were playing and wrestling with each other over the rocks and in the water. I thought they were the cutest things ever! Too bad we weren't allowed to pet them!
There were some kiddie rides that we went on at the very end with Emma and Nora. It was funny seeing Richard on this one ride with Emma and all these little kids going up in the air and coming back down slowly. It made Leisha and I think, "Which one of those things isn't like the other?" There was also this kiddie roller-coaster-type ride that didn't look like it would be fast, but it actually was a little faster than expected and went around the corners sharply. I laughed sitting behind Leisha and Nora. Leisha was planning on taking pictures of Nora while on the ride. Little did we know that it was faster than we thought and jerkier. Leisha had stop picture taking and hold onto Nora! But Nora enjoyed it... she kept saying, "Woo Hoo!"
We went to Dinner at Frontier Pies after our Bear World adventure. I had so much fun! I am so glad Emma and Nora remembered me and were excited to see me, even though I just saw them like a month ago and hung out with them a few times this summer! I offered to adopt them for a bit and give Leisha and Richard some time to themselves! They totally considered the idea ;)
Well, now the fun is over with family until Thanksgiving break. I have a few things planned to do with friends, and I'm so excited! Hopefully I keep up my good blogging streak that I have going on right now!
To end, I have some pictures from Bear World!
