Top 10 reasons why Kylie loves her job

So I really really REALLY love my job. Yes it can be difficult at times and I have so much to remember, but I will never have a job like this again! Here are the top 10 reasons why my job is amazing!

10. I have learned more than I ever have at a job in just 3 weeks. It's some valuable stuff. I'm learning things that I can take with me all throughout the rest of my life! Huge bonus!

9. The people I work with are so wonderful! It's crazy that there's young and old, we come from all over the world, we come from different backgrounds and beliefs, and it's still the funnest environment I have ever been in while working. We are all one big happy family! I laugh every 10 seconds it seems like. And I'm never not smiling. I love that there's girls training with me that are in my same boat and will be working with me for the next 3 months! We already have had some fun times together in and out of work, so hopefully we make lots more memories together. Some of the older people that have worked there for years love us, they say we make them feel young :) I feel like they teach me little life lessons everyday. Yesterday Allen, one of the older men, gave me a lecture about how there is never a reason to be sad. We should always be happy and stay positive, and everything will work out for the best in the end. He just randomly said that out of the blue during lunch but it still was so touching! I could probably type 20 quotes from work that have made me laugh or have touched me in some way. I don't think I will ever find people like this at any other job.

8. Where else can you go straight from work to any of the Disney parks and play for the rest of the evening? No where.

7. I am a bubbly person and am really outgoing with my family and close friends, but I am also quiet and not very talkative to those I don't know very well yet. And I'm a communications major... go figure. But anyways I was scared to interact with guests because I really don't communicate as well as I should, and I am the worst person to ask for directions. But wow, all that has changed. I am so comfortable with anyone that asks me a question and I have so much fun with whoever I talk with. I love getting into a conversation with guests and having fun. And explaining directions is becoming easier and easier. I am so grateful my communication skills have already improved a ton, and I haven't even had my first official day of working on my own yet! I will tomorrow though and I can't wait! It's great my little comfort bubble I have is being popped and I'm being more outgoing and fun all the time. But don't worry I don't get too crazy!

6. Not only am I in a ticket booth selling tickets and helping guests plan their stay at Disney World, but I also get to do two other roles that are included: greeter and parade control (PAC). Greeters are those that stand out in front of the booth and help guests get to where they need to go, and ask the general questions like "Where are the bathrooms?" and "How do I get to Animal Kingdom?" Greeters also are escorts, so we escort a vacation planner to another booth if they are carrying money with them. The best part for me though is that we wear Disney pin lanyards with a bunch of pins on them, and guests that are pin collectors trade with you. I love seeing their faces when I have a pin they like and they get all excited. In PAC, I get to go to the 3 p.m. parade and help put the ropes out for guests to stand behind, then play "pactivities" with the kids, such as hula hoop, duck duck donald, etc. There's a bunch of fun activities. I had training for PAC today and I can't wait to have fun with the kids! And I can also trade pins while I'm there.

5. The benefits I get have made my life amazing! They seem to be endless... go into the parks for free, access to backstage and see how they make everything happen, huge discounts on food and merchandise and other random things, getting to take my family into the parks for free and getting them discounts on food... like I said it never ends. At my job though, there are benefits that aren't in any other role offered to others in the college program. I get to be apart of the "magic carpet club", where if I have a lot of good sales which give me a lot of points, I can get sweet items like a camera or even a laptop. I'm only here for 3 months, and it takes people years to get into the "gold" level where all the good stuff is at, but that program does exactly what it's supposed to: encourages me want to do the best I can. Also at my job, we have monthly games for during the last week of every month. This month was plinko, so if I sold certain tickets that are for Florida residents, I got to play plinko and win prizes! I won a movie ticket and a free soda! There's also just other fun days, like yesterday was cupcake day so one of the vacation planners made us all cupcakes. Seriously the benefits makes my job all the better!

4. The people I work with are always sharing their "magical moments", where they go out of their way and make someone's day magical by doing something you wouldn't normally do. And I live for making people happy, so knowing that I have the opportunity to make people extra happy makes me so excited. I hope to have magical moments soon... ones that are really meaningful. I have magical moments everyday making kids smile and laugh, but I can't wait to do something extra special and knowing I have privileges to do whatever pretty much is super! I will be sure to blog about them once they happen!

3. I have been able to talk with my managers about my interests and what I want to do with myself when I'm older. And they really care to listen and want to get to know me. That makes me feel wanted and accepted. I know if I never need anything they will do what they can to help me out. And once I leave I can have them as references to use whenever I need it. I plan on using them to build my network and get to where I want to be someday.

2. My homework for my job is to go out and have fun in Disney World... I need to have a good knowledge of the parks and all that is there so I can talk about it with guests. It's the best homework I have had and ever will have! I have done what I wanted to the most already, so now I can experience the other things and enjoy it.

1. I really am happier when I'm working, I never dread going to work, and I really don't want to ever leave! If I didn't have to go back to school I would definitely extend. But sadly I do need to go to school next semester. At least I had this opportunity!

Those are the reasons why I love my job. I doubt I'll ever be able to come up with a top 10 list that fast in any other job I have. I wish everyone could experience what I am, because it has truly been incredible.
