We left Wednesday morning for the SeaTac airport. Our flight had one stop in Sacramento, but luckily we were able to stay on our same plane while some people got off and others got on. We got to Los Angeles around 4:30ish, but didn't get to our hotel until a good hour and a half later. We got stuck in after work traffic which was such a pain! Luckily we didn't have to drive in it. We took a shuttle bus instead of renting a car. That evening we decided to walk around Downtown Disney and have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.
Some lovely photos from our boring flight...
Thursday was spent at California Adventure. I was so excited to go there because Cars Land just opened up in June, and I love the movie Cars. It was way cool to walk and be in Radiator Springs just like in the movie. The only line we waited a long time for was in Cars Land, and it was called Radiator Springs Racers. It is a lot like a ride in Disney World called Test Track, but it was Cars themed of course. It was definitely worth the wait, such a cute and fun ride! We went on it later in the day as well because we liked it so much.
We were able to go on pretty much all the rides in a short amount of time in California Adventure. Soarin' Over California, California Screamin', Toy Story Mania, Grizzly River Run, Ariel's Undersea Adventure, and a few others. We went to the Aladdin show, and that was really neat. I would definitely go see that again. There are so many props used and it's a good, 45-minute shortened version of the movie. The actors were so talented, and the guy that played Genie was hilarious by making jokes about Honey Boo Boo and other well-known people who are easy to make fun of. We also went and saw the World of Color at the very end of the day once it was dark and got a good view to watch it by getting there an hour and a half early. But it was worth the wait and I loved the water, colors, lights, music, and Disney scenes used. I will be seeing that again the next time I go!
Friday was our day at Disneyland... a 14-hour day I may add! It went by way too quickly. It was all decorated for Halloween and there was a big Mickey Mouse pumpkin head right in Time Square. We were the very first ones on Thunder Mountain, one of our favorite rides. Basically everyone that was there sprinted to the Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain, the rides that were closed down for a couple weeks to be changed to Halloween-themed. So it was nice going on the less-crowded rides and getting on them pretty quickly. We eventually went on Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. Space Mountain is freaky during Halloween! It's what they call the "Ghost Game," and there is this creepy-looking skeleton fire thing that chases you as you're on the ride. So weird. But still fun. I made sure to get my dole whip, the best dessert ever! They are only found at the Disney Parks and in Hawaii. After a lot of walking and going on rides and souvenir shopping, we ended the day watching the firework show over Sleeping Beauty's castle. I was so happy when it was almost the exact same firework show that is in Disney World called "Wishes." That is the best show ever and makes me teary-eyed! This firework show used the same music and affects, so I am pretty sure they have changed it so it is like Wishes. Once that firework show ended, we were all ready for bed and not looking forward to getting up at 5 in the morning the next day to head home.
We all had a fun time on our little Disney vacation. Now I get to focus on getting all my stuff packed to move to Salt Lake next week and starting my internship with Deseret News on October 1st. I'm nervous but excited to start this next chapter in my life! I know it will be a huge learning experience and will only help me grow to become the person I'm meant to become!
